A new era begins as award-nominated writer Marguerite Bennett (Batwoman, Animosity) and artist Simone di Meo (Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor) introduce an all-new Power Rangers team unlike any other! With the introduction of (Spoiler) Bennett grabbed my attention enough to leave me wanting more, but without any answers of what happened in the Shattered Grid Finale I fear most may lose interest not having "their" team back. The connection to this new team will be vital to the positive feedback towards Marguerite and Boom! Studios in their decision to go in this direction for their story. Read Full Review

Look, I give out praise like this very rarely, but even if you dont care about Power Rangers at all, pick this one up. Its a bleak masterpiece to set the stage for an emotional but hopefully rewarding arc. This is Power Rangers at its best and its truly spectacular. As a jumping-on point for new readers this is great, as a book for long-term fans this is great, as a great read for people who just like good superhero sci-fi comic this is great. Read this. Its going to be building on probably the best story in the franchises history to deliver something that truly earns the title Beyond the Grid Read Full Review

Geeked Out Nation - Jideobi Odunze Sep 26, 2018

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #31 was an okay start to a new adventure. I feel that the next issue will be the one that really says whether this is a story you can continue to follow-up on. With more clarity to the direction and understanding of where this story fits in current events, that is what I hope I can say. Read Full Review

This is a bold new direction for the Power Rangers, and you'll want a seat before it leaves the station. Read Full Review

Marguerite Bennett and Co. have definitely piqued my interest and "MMPR" will continue to be on my monthly pull-list, however, this issue suffered from some from heavy exposition and a jarring start to a new storyline, not meant for a new readership. I do look forward to where our heroes go next and what they discover within "The Void" as their time for survival dwindles. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Brandon S Sep 29, 2018

The plot moves at a snail's pace and thanks to glossing over great character development opportunities during the forty days trapped beyond the grid you dont really care for anyone. You dont feel any stakes and the excessive exposition was exhausting. The story is good in concept but it fails to deliver. Solar Ranger, despite having an interesting design, loses a lot of originality by being Lord Drakkon lite. The best part of the whole comic was the covers. I honestly cant recommend this to anyone. Especially if you read the comics up to this point or watched any of the shows. The new creative team is off to a rough start and has A LOT of ground to make up if they hope to survive Read Full Review

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #31 follows up in the immediate aftermath of the Shattered Grid story arc that recently ended. The previous storyline ended on such a crescendo that I almost wish that Shattered Grid was the series finale.

I'm happy to report that Issue #31 of MMPR picks up the ball and runs with it.

A group of Power Rangers led by Grace Sterling has been stranded in an unknown dimension with no way home, little power and even less access to the Morphin Grid. The adult Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger) has also stranded. I'm not really all that well versed with Ranger Lore so I apologize for not knowing more details about all of the stranded rangers.
