It feels early on in the series to tell where Frankensteins' story will go. As a collected edition it will no doubt read a little more focused and enjoyable, but not a bad comic by any means. The art from Stenbeck and colours from Wagner is one of the highlights of the comic. This book s enjoyable for a number of reasons. Granted, Mignola has a lot of credit with me; if I was being honest, I didn't quite get the last Frankenstein series. Maybe Mignola and Allie realised that for the monster to have context that there had to be more than just him wondering the world. This issue struggles. But it primarily struggles because this is an incredible creative team who's first issue was fantastic. This issue, however, feels rushed and like a general abandonment of the tone and arc that the first issue promised.
