This is just what I wanted. After a long absence it was like meeting an old friend again. One-shots are my second best comic format (behind TPB's). The ability to pick it up and have a complete story (or two) in one comic is fantastic and both of these stories feel complete without any element lacking. They don't feel rushed or limited. A high recommendation for any Hellboy fans or anyone who might want to dip their toes in the Mignolaverse. Read Full Review

Hellboy rarely goes wrong and this one-shot is another solid chapter in the character's history. Since he's been all over the world for decades, there are opportunities for many more stories like this and I sincerely hope we get them. It's clear that Mignola has not missed a beat in Hellboy's 25-plus year legacy. Read Full Review
Hellboy short stories always stand out as some of Mignola's best work, and these two will fit in nicely amongst the others. Mignola tells the story he wants to in the space it requires, and there is no unnecessary bloating to make these stories longer. Fans of Hellboy will be picking this up, no doubt about it, while newcomers will get a good taste of Hellboys world and this could be a stepping stone to investigating the larger mythology. The art from Trevallion feels like a good fit for the Mignolaverse. Read Full Review

The 'Her Fatal Hour' one-shot is a sequel to 'Beast of Vargu' and a fantastic one at that, continuing what was already a very clever concept.
