Outright Geekery - Scott Macdonald Sep 25, 2016

I highly recommend this graphic novel but please, when you read it, take your time. Explore each beautiful page that Colleen Doran has created, especially while the main character is young and the world is full of hope and fancy. His youth may seem whimsical but like everyone's it is gone too soon. And trust me, that feeling of solemn self-reflection afterword, it's perfectly normal. Read Full Review

This story is one that I haven't stopped recommending since I was young, and I never will. But now, I have a different version to recommend. Doran's take on this story will leave you dumbfounded with emotion and deep thought. If you're a Gaiman fan, this absolutely has to be in your library. If you aren't, this short story might change that. Either way, check it out at your local comic book shop and let us know what you think. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Todd Young Oct 4, 2016

By itself, the story stands out for its fable-like telling of a very modern plot. It's told simply, but doesn't miss a beat capturing the heartache and regret a person faces as they look back at their life. On its own, the art is unique and eye catching enough for me to want to own a copy of this book. It keeps in step with the story, with its changing tone. Married to each other, I found them a perfect fit and a book I've enjoyed as much as any I've read this year. Read Full Review

Troll Bridge is a wonderful piece of fiction thats not quite as fun or enthralling to read as it is to think about. Its one of those stories. That isnt so much a flaw as it is a fact, but the comic book lexiconand my bookshelfhas room for these types of stories. Theyre important. Theres a reason fables are remembered and passed down from generation to generation. This is one of those. Read Full Review

Multiversity Comics - Matthew Garcia Oct 13, 2016

Neil Gaiman and Colleen Doran explore ideas of coming to terms with yourself in a morose story thats exuberantly illustrated. The two elements dont just balance each other out, they are also complimentary. Read Full Review
