As Geralt explores new possibilities for his life path, he receives a request from the Mayor of Towitz, a small town where children are being kidnapped by Foglets... but something feels off about this new threat.

Those few comic readers unfamiliar with the franchise may be impressed enough to give it a try based on this first chapter. The Witcher: Fading Memories is a lush start to a four-issue miniseries focused on Geralt in a world where monsters are almost gone. A beautifully illustrated and colored character study, this inaugural issue is an engrossing read that you'll find yourself reluctant to put down. Sword and sorcery fans will find a solid story here, as will fans of The Witcher overall. Additionally, Witcher fans who are coming from the 2019 Netflix adaptation will still find themselves engrossed in Geralt's world as he tries to figure out where his path is taking him, as well as how to fit into a seemingly hopeless world. A solid opening then, and while the full scope of the story is still to be revealed, the emotional impact of the final page and the confident delivery throughout is more than enough to draw this particular reader in. Overall, I'm not overly impressed with the art but I am enjoying where the story is going. I'm still looking to take in as much of the Witcher's adventures that I can and The Witcher: Fading Memories #1 continues to help the comic book stories of the Witcher excel in this medium. Read Full Review
Truth be told, I have never played the game or read the novels; the TV show was fun, well, my wife enjoyed the show. Dungeons and dragons, apart from the cartoon show, have never really caught my attention. I am sure that there is enough of the various Witcher treatise to garner the attention of the various groups of fans. Read Full Review
