Of course to many readers all of this sentiment may seem trite and even puerile, but for the fans of Usagi Yojimbo we see the layers that Stan Sakai is pulling aside. I feel that he is making Senso for the fans. After 30 years of gentle and even subtle storytelling, Stan Sakai is standing on the proverbial mountaintop screaming to the heavens and the entire world for all to hear. Outstanding. In the middle of what appears to be a hopeless situation the issue offers a rather bleak picture of what's to come. However, those with faith in Miyamoto Usagi know that the rabbit ronin has a knack for always finding a way. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton Nov 10, 2014

It's nice to have every issue of "Usagi Yojimbo: Senso" feel like it's genuinely important. There's no filler here; big events are happening in each new chapter, and skipping an issue means you're going to fail to see another big step forward in the storyline. While I'm relieved that the regular "Usagi Yojimbo" series is returning after "Usagi Yojimbo: Senso" comes to a close, if this was the last word on the series, I think I would be all right with that. Sakai's showing us how to go out with a bang, both figuratively and literally. This is a story where the stakes are high not just because we're told that they are, but because we can see and feel the level of danger. Another excellent comic from one of the industry's diamonds. Comicosity - Aaron Long Nov 5, 2014

Usagi Yojimbo: Senso #4 continues the series at a nice pace and Sakai leaves himself a lot of territory to explore in issues #5 and #6. The master-storyteller weaves a fine tale and I look forward to seeing how this arc of Usagi Yojimbo wraps up in a couple months. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Samantha Roehrig Nov 5, 2014

My first experience with Usagi went well. I like the black and white and totally sets up the mood for the comic. But more than that, I dug the story and see why this comic is a favorite of all ages. It offers some good storytelling with a twist. I look forward to seeing Usagi and Tomoe's relationship grow. And just because he doesn't want to tell his son the truth doesn't mean it will stay hidden. The story has just begun here, and I think I just got hooked. Read Full Review
