Batman '66 #26 is a really good issue showcasing a obscure but fun Batman villain. Jeff Parker and Ruben Procopio give readers an old west tale that is fun and entertaining. In the end, that's what I look for in this book so mission accomplished. Read Full Review
This is a big throwback, what with the old school superhero costumes and all. This issue is both an entertaining story and a beautiful compilation of some really good illustrations. One of the weakest issues from this book this year, it still isn't bad, and considering how strong it's been in recent months a little lag is understandable. This isn't the Poison Ivy I'm acquainted with and it's not how I would have written the character, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just different. This remains one of my favorite books I've ever read, let alone get to read here, and the mere fact that Parker and crew are willing to have fun and take risks makes it worth coming back to each month. This particular adventure isn't the strongest one in recent issues but it is serviceable and is a successful nostalgia delivery vehicle if nothing else. There really isn't much bad to say about it except that there really isn't anywhere this book can go. It will never deal with anything serious and so it will never be great.
