I am happy to see a less insane side of Beth and it is good to see her patrolling the city with her sister. Now that we have the team together lets see where the next issue goes. I am hopeful for a satisfactory ending to this series but I see a lot still needs to be covered. Batwoman #39 feels like the third movie in any superhero film franchise. Let's throw in as many characters as we can, for no other reason than we can and that will automatically make it cool. That premise is not cool and this book isn't cool. Let's hope that it takes a cue from superhero movies and just reboots everything. I can't recommend this book to anyone, and the only thing keeping it from getting a single star is fantastic cover art. Read Full Review
I have tried to keep an open mind and support this book, but even I can't pretend this is a good issue. It is not. The dialogue and situations felt so forced and rushed that they were almost laughable. Almost. I can only hope that this mess of an issue leads to a good finale next month because Kate Kane and her loyal fans deserve it. Read Full Review
If you've been following Batwoman since the beginning, then you're going to find this issue to extremely frustrating. If you're new to the book and characters, then you might actually find this issue somewhat entertaining. If you asked my advice though, I'd tell you to chance your money on another title. Batwoman no runs towards inevitable end of Kate Kane as the last issue looms over this story. Its hard to tell if this nightmare will end as it has been going or if maybe killing Kate off was the only option left. If you are a true Batwoman fan the end is near and its not a positive one.
