The Hasagaua crime family has been a big thorn in Selinas side as she grapples with the underworld. Now learn the secret of how their stories intersect!
A superb diversion from the main story which stands on its own and also contributes to the greater whole. Read Full Review
Overall: This is a fun and revealing issue that only adds to the current plot. If you're reading Catwoman at the moment, then you should definitely pick this issue up. If you're not reading Catwoman, then you need to be! Snyder created something that Valentine is courting to become one of Selina's greatest and most defining moments! Read Full Review
Catwoman Annual #2 is a solid character focused story, really diving into the life of/bringing the new Catwoman to life. It has some issues with the narration but the writing and story read very well overall. If you have been liking the new Catwoman run so far, be sure to check this comic out as well. Read Full Review
The "Catwoman Annual" #2 is a real success. I've said a million times now but this new direction is the most important one that's happened in the Gotham books. It's been a near 3 year struggle for Selina Kyle but Genevieve Valentine is on to something. It's much darker than what has come before but she's made this series jump to the top of my to read pile. An interesting profile of one of Catwoman's new supporting players, but not one that gets you attached to her. Read Full Review
This Annual is a great behind the scenes look at one of my favorite new characters. Genevieve Valentine does a great job expanding her new Catwoman Universe by showing the origins of the new Catwoman. Yes, Selina Kyle is here, but the the real star is Eiko Hasigawa and I for one loved it. Read Full Review
While the numbering may be the same and follows what came before it, Catwoman has become something different that hopefully will last. Another positive with this issue is the weight of it. Just by the feel of this book there is a weight to it. Though this story follows Eiko's journey and who she is there is a lot of content for somebody that is just being introduced. Eiko is a character that will hopefully be a part of the book for a long time and it will be great to not only see her evolve, but to also see her answer figure out what the suit truly means to her. Overall this was a pretty decent issue, and gave some unique insight into the Hasigawa Family, how Eiko takes on the mantle of Catwoman and how Selina started to gather her forces and unite the criminal underworld. A very good companion piece to the ongoing Catwoman storyline in the monthly title. However it would have been nice to shed some more light on Selina Kyle, as she is the title character of the book…however this could something planned down the road in Eternal…guess we will have to wait and see.
