On the verge of death, John Constantine fights for his very soul against his own former protg!
After last issue's forced entry into Trinity War, this is a welcome return to the ground war on magic. Read Full Review
I think it's safe to say that whilst Trinity War didn't do this series much favours, it's going to bounce back quite nicely. The ongoing plot continues to build, and Constantine is facing all manner of new and exciting threats as the Cold Flame draw ever closer. The final few pages show that things are only going to get worse, and if this issue is any indication, this series is going to get better. Read Full Review
Aside from this is was a well enough build up to what will make things go from bad to worse for John. We all know he has a thing for mystic artifacts and likes to keep them in his possession. Now that they are in the hands of someone who has nothing good to do with them, he's now in a world of trouble. Just about anything can happen and there aren't many he can turn to in this situation. Especially when Trinity War is occurring at the same time. Decent issue, but that's all it really was because his death and obvious resurrection fell flat. Read Full Review
Being a follow up to the great issue #5, it seems unfair. What could top Constantine, and Shazam in a issue together, and what could be better than Constantine being Shazam? But either way it's Constantine and you can't help but have fun, watching him be the asshole we love. Not a bad issue, but I hope for better next month. Read Full Review
Renato Guedes' art is eye-catching enough, if not always as consistent as it could be. Again, the barroom scenes tend to stand out the most thanks to the way Guedes frames each panel and his dynamic angles. Disappointingly, the astral plane material is comparatively flat and dull. But colorist Marcelo Maiolo deserves credit for lending a vibrant, eerie shine to every scene. Read Full Review
CONSTANTINE is fine series. This wasn't the best issue in the series, but overall, it's still a very solid read. The first half of this book is a bit slow and it feels a bit like filler, more than anything else. However, the second half of this book is fantastic and the reveal page is pretty darn exciting. If you enjoyed the last issue of CONSTANTINE, you're going to want to pick this up. Newcomers, this may not be the best place for you to jump on. Overall, I give this a mild recommendation. . . $3, 20pgs. Crowded B- cover. Too many ADs! . . Fawkes and Guedes continue to produce a decent book, which shows improvement with each issue. We dont gets what the cover promises, but its a good issue none the less. While the astral planes scenes were surprisingly weak, the rest of the issue has plenty of action, blood and creepy villains to enjoy. We are in a good ride at this point, as the plot develops and John holds onto life! A very nice job on art, colors and layout. Good writing, dialog and character use. Im on for the time being.
