"DC Super Hero Girls: Finals Crisis" is downright fun. There's almost no way you can pick this up and not fall in love with these new characterizations. It'll bring a smile to even the most jaded comic book fans and is a must buy for young girls looking to get into comic books. It's a beautifully drawn book with happiness radiating from it. So, assuming youre not a little girl reading this review yourself (and if so, please do not click through to my column from last week where I swear a lot), do me a favor. Buy a copy of this book and give it to a little girl. If you want one for yourself, buy two. But get this in the hands of the people who need it most. Do it. Do it. Do it. Read Full Review
This isn't a deep layered graphic novel, it's not supposed to be. This is geared towards younger kids who'll enjoy the characters and style and simplistic story. Still, I found it all enjoyable and can't wait to read and see more of it all. If there's a little super hero in your life, this is an absolute must buy for them. If you're an adult, it's one you'll want to check out to see what the kids are so excited about. Read Full Review
This was a fun, breezy, delightful look at these characters. I have yet to be disappointed by this line. So kudos to Fontana and Labat. They really tell a refreshing story even for a grizzled old comic veteran like me. Read Full Review
DC Super Hero Girls: Finals Crisisworks well as a gateway comic for the parent who's asking where to get a child started on comics (For the record, there isanother issue coming, but not until November.). Overall, the book is cute and will probably keep the attention of a kid, but is going to be dull and feel a little forced for any adult reading it on their own. Taken as individual stories, the book excels as an introduction to comics and to each of the Super Hero Girls but when read cover-to-cover, it becomes trite and grating. The art is cartoony, and the way the story works out made me wonder why they didn't just make this story into a TV show, since that's what it feels like anyway. Read Full Review
Great art in a non-traditional comic style brings these Superhero Girls to life, but I wish I got to know them better on the page. This book alone is not the best intro into the DC Superhero Girls franchise, but may be part of something greater. Read Full Review
