Comic Booked - Jeff Hill Feb 7, 2014

Hulk" er" Bane fighting a bunch of other Banes does not interest me. In fact, it makes me think of all the reasons I like and have always liked DC. Because they routinely DON'T do stuff like this. Granted, it is going to at least try to not be campy, but come on. This is ridiculous, no matter how you look at it. In concept, that is. I remain hopeful that this will not just be one big brawl of crazy (or rather, crazier) Venom-induced Arkhamites fighting mindlessly until one side stops. But seriously. Let's not have that. Let's have Scarecrow outsmart (or try to outsmart) Bane. And really, let's just have what we all want to have happen actually come to fruition: the war ends, the dust settles, and the Penguin takes over Gotham City once and for all. See you next month for the conclusion. I'm sure it'll be great. Even if it's a mindless smackdown. Read Full Review

Infinite Comix - Tyler McGoff Feb 12, 2014

Forever Evil: Arkham War #5 sets the stage for a climactic showdown between all of the villains in Gotham. The action in this issue is fast-paced and keeps the pages turning. Eaton's art has energy and detail that makes this enjoyable to read. Tomasi's writing keeps the story going with some pay-off with the Bane and Talon fight, but there are still several plot points that need to be addressed in the final issue for this series to have resolution. Gotham Spoilers - Gotham Spoilers Feb 5, 2014

Same old story for this series, while it offers some dumb, lowest common denominator, albeit fun entertainment, it just doesn't amount to much past Bane faction vs. Scarecrow faction. This series is just a bunch of Batman villains fighting, and nothing past that. So, like always, if you just like seeing people punch each other, you'll probably enjoy this, if you're expecting something more, look elsewhere. Me? I'm straight down the middle on this one. Weird Science - Eric Shea Mar 16, 2014

While the issue is chock full of action, and fighting, it does little to maintain the story.  All the build up to the Talons, and a big war is quelled in a couple of pages.  Then it's on to the next big plan.  I was just left wanting more, and hope to get it in the next issue.  If you've been reading the series, then you'll obviously want to get this issue as well, just don't expect to get blown away. Batman-News - Andrew Asberry Feb 9, 2014

I think that it could be cool for those who are just looking for big, ridiculous action featuring Bane, Talons, and lots of cameos from a roid raging rogues gallery, but if you're looking for something with more substance you'll want to steer clear of this one. I've been really disappointed in this mini-series' attempt at a villain-centric New 52 No Man's Land. It's a Forever Evil tie-in worth skipping. Read Full Review
