This wild and whimsical adventure has a heartbreaking ending. Yet, it perfectly captures the spirit of Harley's life and times. Read Full Review
So overall, this issue was kind of scatteredbut would we really expect anything else from Harley? Not every story worked, but the ones that did could be brilliant. Read Full Review
So many comic book characters thrive on being simple and iconic. Character development and change over time are great, but veer too far in one direction or the other and the character begins to lose appeal. Harley thrives on being herself through an insane array of different roles and personalities. It might be what makes her that much more dynamic and durable than just about any other character that has been introduced in the superhero genre over the course of the past 30 years. Her 100-page super-spectacular wisely showcases so much of the range that Harley has managed. Read Full Review
Whew one hundred pages of Harley is a lot. While not every story succeeds (there are ten!), overall the reader gets the impression that DC Universe has assembled a cast of creatives that treat Harley with the care and dedication the character deserves. Harley is wildly popular, including with this review author. The artwork in the book is particularly strong and it is thrilling to see Stjepan eji return to telling and illustrating Harley tales. Although I like the redemptive, lighter arc for Harley that current lead writer Stephanie Phillips is relating, the darkness that eji explores is alive with possibilities. As a whole, this is a strong book. Fans will find much to enjoy here. Read Full Review
Harley Quinn: 30th Anniversary Special lacks quality and makes up for it in volume and a hefty cover price to make you feel like you're getting your money's worth. Of the ten shorts included, only two or three truly celebrate the titular character and are worth your time. Read Full Review
If this issue had just been maybe half of what was ultimately packed into it in terms of number of stories, it might have been better but as is, it's just a bit mediocre and doesn't fully do the character much justice. Read Full Review
For what it's worth, I told everyone I knew that was going to buy a copy of this comic to avoid it. I myself saved about $20 on it. It's not worth it. Even with the couple of stories that show a little sign of the actual Harley Quinn character, you'd be better off just looking at older material. Read Full Review
This issue has its ups and downs. The worst part of it, by far, being the Conner and Palmiotti story. Honestly, my favorite of the bunch is probably the story by current writer Stephanie Phillips. I see a lot of praise for Stjepan Sejic's story, but I had a lot of problems with how Harleen handled Joker and Harley's relationship, and those problems are still present in this short story, so I didn't like it much.
I read this solely for the Stjepan Šejić story and I was not disappointed
