If Simone, and Nicola can continue to slowly amp up the action issue after issue, but the time this arc is over, youre going to need a nitroglycerin pills to keep your heart for racing out of control. What really made Simone's reinvention of Catman into a hot bi sex symbol full of compelling moral quandaries memorable was her wise decision to leave him still just a little pathetic, convinced he's Batman's dark reflection rather than a B-lister who Batman rarely thinks about. A less interesting writer might have simply declared that Catman is the coolest badass in the world now and a major member of the rogues' gallery now; Simone richly humanizes him with the delusive gap between who Catman thinks he is and who he actually is
