Cass Cain, Batgirl, has died before, and it seems the spirits of the Spirit World met her when she passed through before being revived by the Lazarus Pit...but then how come she doesn't remember being there? Then, as Constantine's memories start to fade after being in the Spirit World for too long, he begins to turn on Xanthe, who needs to find a way back to the land of living or Constantine will be a permanent resident of the land of the dead...either way, time's running out!

This issue continues to build the world of the Spirit World as well as provide magical visuals to an already enjoyable story. The use of the they/them pronouns continue to provide the affirmation that Xanthe is non-binary and that is an exceptional detail. Read Full Review

An engaging continuation of the story. Alyssa Wong's writing pairs well with Haining's art and Cheng's colors. The characters' determination and the hints about Po Po's past offer emotional depth and intrigue. The issue's artwork maintains its impressive quality, with dynamic layouts and captivating visuals that enhance the storytelling. As the mysteries of the Spirit World unfold, readers are left eagerly anticipating what's to come. Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Aaron Ray Jr.

Overall, Spirit World #4 operates like a video game boss stage. Basically, a protagonist with a mysterious past teams up with an elder mage and a edgy warrior to go on a series of dangerous quests in a mythical world. The team spends time gathering resources to beat the mini boss, and even teams up with an overpowered temporary ally whom leaves the party. Given that, there isn't much depth to this particular chapter. It isn't particularly bad, but the use of tropes, clichs, and unoriginal dialogue isn't impressive either. Hopefully it gets back to some compelling storytelling, but for now it has the appeal of a mindless "beat 'em up" video game. Read Full Review

This sputters and dies. It looses steam every issue and get more convoluted. Really the biggest loss of the "We are Legends" Series. It honestly feels like Wong just make up whatever random rules for the Spirit World as she goes and these rules are not consistent. Fight was ok at best. Haining art is great though. Personally I quite like it. That alone boosted this books score by +2.
