I really loved Manapuls first story arc on this book, and everything in this issue indicates that another fun ride is coming up. A scary one. Read Full Review
After two issues of filler and event fodder, Francis Manapul has returned to Trinity again, oh boy was he missed. Trinity #9 begins to work back to what made this series so great when it first launched. With Diana, Bruce, and Clark woking as a team and introducing a new mystery. Read Full Review
Trinity was due for a fresh arc and Manapul seems dialed in with a fun challenge for his heroic trio and their super friends. Read Full Review
This issue is really fun and readers will finish it quite quickly. It sets up a great arc in Justice League and Trinity in the coming months. Read Full Review
This is an interesting thriller issue, a mixture of superheroes and creature features. I could hear an eerie, monotonous soundtrack in the back of my head while Flash was giving us the run-down of what's going on. Dismembered Cyborg didn't help tone it down either. I'm genuinely curious as to what went down on this ship, however, I believe I am as confused as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. It's certainly something I've added to my collection. The art alone is completely worth it, but I'd suggest to read it differently. Instead of a superhero comic, read it like a murder-mystery and see if you feel anything different. Read Full Review
Despite disquieting questions concerning this tale's place in the current canon, Francis Manapul almost singlehandedly produced a solid story including timely Twin Peaks allusions. Read Full Review
Other than some mindblowing art, there isn't too much to talk about inTrinity #9. It's an enjoyable read (even the second time), but it's pretty basic. The promise of a return to some of the first arc's subject matter has me intrigued, but that payoff is in the future on some undetermined date. Right here, right now, this is just a pretty good story with otherworldly visuals"worth your cash, and lots of looks, but not much extended consideration of the plot or characters. Read Full Review
It's surprising good, with its flaws and successes somehow coming together to form an overall pleasing whole. Read Full Review
Trinity has had some ups and down throughout Rebirth, mostly due to inconsistent storylines from issue to issue. Luckily, with issue 9, we start a new storyline that looks promising and is a good jumping on point for new readers.I am apprehensive about what comes next, as I feel aliens looking to eradicate Earth is a plot trope used WAY too often in Rebirth books like Trinity and Justice League. It's just an overused trope and I hoped for something a little more. The art is stylistic and probably the best thing about Trinity right now, I am especially fond of howFrancisManapuldraws Wonder Woman. I think having him both the writer and the artist works in the books favor, giving the story and art an overall cohesive look and feel. Read Full Review
Overall, the issue was a set-up for this coming arc and the invasion of an alien virus. The Trinity is up against their own teammates now which was hinted at the previous issue. Although it is not due directly to Rebirth as previously implied, this still could be a fun arc. Read Full Review
This is a great looking issue that doesn't have much beyond that. The story of an attack on the Watchtower was confusing and poorly setup and executed. I wish I could recommend this since it's the start of a new arc, but I can't so I won't. Read Full Review
A creepy beginning to what I hope will be the horror arc for the Justice League. This comic is what I want the Justice League comic to be, especially because of the visually appealing element to the story. Great art and a good start to an interesting concept of a story.
Francis Manapul's first arc on this series left me a little cold. The first issue was strong but the remainder of the issues were, more than, a little weak...Mr. Manapul's scripting left much to be desired. Here we are, again, at the beginning of an arc and TRINITY #7 is off to a very strong start. However, there is evidence of Mr.Manupal learning as he goes and the writing is,definitely, improved...just in the way he manages to sync the dialogue to his, always excellent, art is more apparent. Plus, as I mentioned, Mr.Manupal's art is, in a word, "excellent" this issue...the best looking issue since the series began, in my opinion.
SCORE: 7.4
Manapul's art is always brilliant, unfortunately the storytelling is again forgettable. I barely remember what went on for the past few issues of Trinity even though they keep reminding us in book. I'd hate to say this but after 9 months, Trinity feels like fluff. You aren't missing much if you don't read it and you are getting much if you do. It's just kind of there... I find it odd that while the Watchtower is under deadly attack, Bruce, Diana, and Clark are just chilling by a lake in civilian clothes. If Cyborg didn't boom tube them, what, do they go for a swim while the rest of the JL die?
the tone in this one was very similar to the current Justice League run, inconsistent art with ok story I think it will cross over with Justice League and I am interested in what comes next.
