/…/ /Who are the Vigil?/ /Dodge file loading… Dodge is the speedster metahuman in the secret organization called the Vigil. Her alias is likely to be a woman who goes by the name Dinah Kom. All files connected to this name have been erased. The only information left that was pieced together by Checkmate is that Dodge has a condition that places an extraordinary amount of fast-twitch muscle fiber in her body. Her suit allows her to control the fibers to move at the speed of thought. The multiversal and space-time repercussions of this are to be discussed in the next transmission. Stay tuned for more./ /…/ /you are being watched./
This issue of The Vigil, as well as this series, is a standout for DC that should not be missed. It is easily the series that I am the most excited about right now. Read Full Review
The super-powered squad of heroes is almost fully established by the end of the eighth issue of the series. Ram V has been patient enough, rolling out the backstory for every team member. Its been a very practiced and systematic approach to unveiling a team that maximizes the readers connection with every team member. The cleverness of Ram Vs writing isnt in its inventiveness...it lies in his technique and the overall composition of what is rapidly becoming a very satisfying new addition to the DC universe. Whereas much of The Vigil #4 feels familiar after three issues, it offers just enough at the end to assure readers that it is quickly arriving at a destination worth witnessing. Read Full Review
The Vigil #4 is one of the better issues in the run because we get to see the team work together, learn more about the origin of one of their members, and get an intriguing tease about the team's leadership. Unfortunately, everything this issue accomplishes comes much too late in the run. Read Full Review
Again this is exactly what I want in a Doom Patrol/Suicide Squad style book.
This issue starts like the previous issues with another dive into another character, this time Dodge. The mission they are on goes downhill and the Doc has some major secrets about himself and everyone that induces a major turning point by the end of the book. This issue builds up some major hype and the lore dump next issue is going to determine how this run shapes up. As for the job it was suppose to do as a 4th issue, it sure does it. It really is becoming more clear what this 6 issue mini-series goal is. Love every page of it.
