Her fabled bracelets shattered, her will broken, Wonder Woman...defeated? The wrath of Cheetah has been unleashed and, armed with the fabled Godkiller sword, even Amazons will fall before her!
Tom Derenick's art is fantastic. There are some amazing visual moments and the style of the art captures the dark tone of the story. Read Full Review
I'm hoping Wilson gets to wrap up her current story before she goes, because she has some fascinating ideas here. Read Full Review
This is just another disappointing issue in an overall disappointing run of Wonder Woman. Love is dead in the book, but it's also affecting my love of one of my favorite characters and that is really starting to upset me. Read Full Review
While every individual on the page continues to bemoan their loss of love, it's not apparent in the story on the page and that leaves this story lifeless. Read Full Review
I didn't love this issue although I feel like I should have. But I'm not invested in these events. Part of that is because of the art. I can't see Diana's hardship the way I would like to and that takes a lot of the power away. I'm told she looks like hell but she looks fine. Another part of it is that I'm still not sure about the death of love taking away Diana's powers. That threw me off at the end of the last issue and I'm still unsure about that choice. The pacing is weird and I think the issue is dull. Read Full Review
Prelude:
I haven't been enjoying Wilson's run on Wonder Woman nor Year of the Villain either. Combine the two and what do you get?
The Good:
I love (ha) the fallout from the last couple of issues and what love means to society as a whole.
Great art in this issue as well.
The Bad:
Doesn't Cheetah already have the Void Wind from Drowned Earth/Graveyard of the Gods? There's no need for the Godkiller then since it fulfils the same purpose.
Conclusion:
While this story may not make the most sense due to very recent continuity, this is at least a pass grade from me. The topic is interesting enough backed up with some great art.
Honestly fine.
This is just a very underwhelming book.
Feeble. DC just cannot get WW right.
