Darkwing Duck...retired?! Mild-mannered Drake Mallard has had a crisis of conscience, and decides to hang up his cape and cowl in order to be a good dad to daughter Goslyn. But non-superhero life is not an easy thing for Drake to slip into...especially since he's convinced the conniving MORGANA to settle down with him into (boring) suburban living!

Darkwing Duck #3 is another fantastic issue that feels like it naturally fits into a show that aired 3 decades ago. It's like no time has passed but at the same time the stories connect with that original audience and are entertaining for a new one. Getting dangerous has settled a bit for making breakfast in this issue, but with flair, and it still is an entertaining and fun read. Read Full Review

Luckily, Deibert and Lauro are moving away from this and injecting some interesting story beats into the life of Drake Mallard while bringing back familiar supporting characters. Read Full Review

DARKWING DUCK #3 amusingly explores Drake Mallards life as a retired superhero while the citizens of St. Canard grapple with evil threats. The individual scenes are largely entertaining, and the idea of Drake trying to fit in as a civilian is a fresh take on the character, but the plot feels disjointed and confusing at times. If youre a fan of Darkwing and Morganas relationship, you are sure to love Darkwing Duck #3, but if youre expecting a lot of action, this issue is not for you. Nevertheless, they set up the villain for next issue, so mostly likely the Terror the Flaps in the Night will make his triumphant return to crime fighting. His eventual fight with this villain is most likely foreshadowed as Drake is looking through various photos of his time as Darkwing fighting villains. Will Darkwing come to the rescue? Could Drake and Morgana get married? Let us know what you think, Darkwing fans! Read Full Review

I absolutely loved the charm and wit of this story and as the plot builds up it gets better and better. Great writing and lovely simple drawn but sumptuously executed art make me think I’m sat in my armchair watching the show from yesterday. All in all a wonderful story crafted by a team that care about all the characters.

Another great issue that makes one glad to see Darkwing back in comics. This issue features a humorous plot in Drake Mallard's attempts to live a peaceful suburban life with a family. It's great to see Morgana back and a humorous clash with her disapproving father.
The lead up to Bushroot's being the source of our hero's latest problems was also cleverly done, especially as this is merely the first part of this arc. We'll see what he's up to next issue and how long Drake can hold out before admitting only Darkwing can save the day. That ensures that we'll be in anticipation for the next issue. I'm looking forward to what happens next and even further beyond that. This is definitely one of the best books around today, and best of all, i more

Quite enjoyed this one, setting up a continuation in the next issue which is a first for this series.

Art remains on point, Lauro is VERY good at evoking the look of the original series and staying on model whilst pulling off fun poses and great expressions for Darkw-- uh, Drake.

This issue is mostly setup(think of it as the first half of an episode of the show) but its still got plenty of fun character moments. Drakes main squeeze Morg returns here, and its pretty much like she never left. This writer really has these characters voices down, you can read them in their voices from the show and it sounds and feels right.

The villain being setup is Bushroot here, one of the more infamous of his villains, but more
