Comics: The Gathering - Nathan Koffler Oct 24, 2018

This first issue is absolutely entertaining and if this team can continue what they have done here, then this series will be a success. In a small amount of pages, this issue captures the strangeness and the humor that I expected from a Mars Attacks comic book series. Read Full Review

The Brazen Bull - Charlie Chipman Oct 23, 2018

    Newsarama - Justin Partridge Oct 24, 2018

Chock-full of death rays, imposing flying saucers, and actually funny edgy humor, Dynamite’s new Mars Attacks is a real winner for the property and imprint. Kyle Starks, Chris Schweizer, and Liz Trice Schweizer have really found a neat take on the franchise, imbuing it with relatable family drama which gives it stakes and another deep well of comedy to draw from. All that plus the destructive return of some of the meanest, best-designed aliens fandom has to offer, and you have a relaunch that is more than worth your time. Read Full Review

    ComicBook.com - Patrick Cavanaugh Oct 24, 2018

While this new iteration of Mars Attacks! might not be a home run for all readers, it delivers a cacophony of campy and comical carnage we expect from the title, honoring both Burton's film and the trading cards that burned images of Martian mayhem into our brains. Read Full Review

Comic Crusaders - Daniel Clark Oct 29, 2018

Mars Attacks #1 has the makings of what a licensed book should be; a strong creative team, a willingness to forge its own path, and a healthy appreciation for the source material that avoids being reliant on what came before. While the opening issue works well as a tone-setter, it comes off as incomplete as an opening chapter. The beauty of comics is that there is still plenty of time left to tell this story and if it successfully builds on what is right with this issue we will have another standout series by Dynamite. If you need something funny or youve got an appreciation of the film then you should enjoy this, its harmless black comedy and thats pretty refreshing from time to time. It's not going to set the world on fire, but definitely give it a read if you want something to laugh about. Read Full Review
