Michael Williams is a family man. A reliable man at both work and home. When he disappears, there are no clues left behind. Now, it is up to Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson to find out what happened to him and what danger may be lurking around every corner, in the case of The Vanishing Man!
Overall. This is a great first issue that has me wanting more. What happened to Michael Williams? Will Wiggins manage to get away from the chemist? Does Michael Williams disappearance have any connection to the archaeologicalfindings that Holmes read about? I guess we're all going to have to wait to next month to get some of these answers. As for Sherlock himself - at first I didn't like the way they designed his character (looks wise), but the more I looked at it the more I realized I was expecting him to look more like the latest movie and TV show adaptations. Once I threw that assumption out of my head, I was actually pretty content with the choices made. I love that they chose to start right off with his addictions, and the consequences of his frequently reckless behavior (like sending a child off with a ton of money to pick up and deliver his 'medications;' thus putting them at significant risk). A Sherlock Holmes story should never veer too far from the familiar and this version does well to both pay respects to canon and provide what should amount to a deeper mystery as time goes on. There is still much to be deduced, but the Vanishing Man is off to a good start. Read Full Review
