With the announcement a few days ago of a limited series being released, we will get to see more of this dream team of creepy comics pulling no punches and trying to make our skin crawl. While I'm a little teary, that a TV reboot (someone call Netflix) of Tales From The Darkside didn't occur. This comic does a nice job of drying those tears and turning a frown upside down. You'd be a fool not pick this one up! Read Full Review

If you're a fan of these two creators, or a fan of horror in general, I would highly recommend Tales from the Darkside #1. From the creepy, clever story Hill has woven to the stellar artwork of Rodriguez, there shouldn't be anything keeping you from scooping up your copy. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - Josh McCullough Jun 16, 2016

Overall though,Tales from the Darksideis a very solid comic from a creative team I'm thrilled to see reunited. There's a very enjoyable storywithin these pages that scratches a very specific horror itch for me as well as the promise of great things to come. I really wish this was an ongoing rather than a mini, as I could read these type of stories from these two from now to the end of time, butfor now, I can easily recommend this series and am excited to see what comes next. Weird Science - Reggie Hemingway Jun 28, 2016

What is in fact a rejected series pitch adapted for comic books has turned out, thus far, to be one hell of a comic book. Well-told and paced much like a three-act, half hour television show, Joe Hill has provided something just frightening enough to linger on, but not keep us awake at night. As good as it is, the story pales in comparison to the artwork, which is absolutely gorgeous. Check this out if you've been looking for something to scratch that horror comic book itch. Next issue starts a two-part story before the final fourth issue releases, so this is a short visit to the Darkside. You don't have to be a fan of the show to enjoy this first issue, but if you're a fan of EC or DC horror comics, or even the Tales from the Crypt TV show from years back, then this will appeal to you. Joe Hill is a proven writer both in and out of comics so you can trust that this series will have some surprises in store, and I'll be back for the rest of this mini-series. Read Full Review

Big Comic Page - John Patterson Jun 14, 2016

I think I expected more from this book than is fair. You can't compare it to Locke and Key, nor to Horns, another Joe Hill tome. It is constrained by the precedent set by the TV series and I think it confines this dynamic duo's ability. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Jennifer Cheng Jun 20, 2016

"Tales From the Darkside" #1 has its high points, namely Hill's ability to develop a character's voice quickly and Rodriguez's smooth transitions and pacing, but "Sleepwalker" prioritizes symbolism and concept too much over plotting and characterization. Read Full Review
