Marcus Fall is a battle-hardened soldier in a long-running inter-planetary war. After multiple combat tours, Fall is finally able to leave the military and return to his beloved wife and son. But his happy homecoming comes to a tragic end when a suicide bomber murders his family. Devastated, Fall returns to the war with one bloody mission in mind: revenge against the enemy... every last one of them.
THE LAST FALL #1 is a pretty exciting read that offers an engaging insight into its tragic lead. The universe may not be nearly as fleshed out as its main character, but the potential is certainly there and I'm hoping the plot begins to take more elaborate and interesting steps in the next chapter. Still, this debut issue succeeded in making me interested in Marcus Fall and I absolutely want to see where his journey takes him next. If you're a sucker for sci-fi wars, I'd recommend giving THE LAST FALL a chance. The overall narrative may not blow you away, but the action is a blast and odds are you'll establish a connection to the hero. Read Full Review
I can't wait for issue two, the mix of violence and religion is intriguing and very well captured. Waltz did a "knock-out" job (no pun intended) and really delivered a fantastic first issue. IDW yet again brings on a title that can drop your jaw to the floor and you'll gladly pay the dental bill for it. Read Full Review
The Last Fall #1 was a pleasant surprise that I was not expecting to enjoy. It was only by mere chance that I picked up the book and I gotta say that I'm happy about it. Sure not original or ground breaking, but it's something that I can pick up and read and just have a good time transported to this world with a protagonist that I am interested in. It brings an intriguing enough premise centered on a holy war to get any Sci-Fi fan interested. If anything I have said at all interest you I recommend checking out The Last Fall #1. Read Full Review
The Last Fall was a comic just under my radar that left me pleasantly surprised. A solid sci-fi war story taking the best beats of military science fiction and Gears of War. A developing story in the making, imperfect but you will have a good time. The Last Fall is well worth checking out. Read Full Review
The Last Fall launches us into a sci-fi war with holy proportions. With an intriguing premise and strong characteristics issue one proves to be very captivating having this fanboy hooked for the remainder of this mini. Recommended. Read Full Review
The Last Fall isn't bad, but it's nothing to write home about either. I'll probably pick up the second issue just to see if it gets any better, but I'm not holding breath. If you're in the mood for more mindless warfare, go right ahead, but I can't recommend this one for any other reason yet. Read Full Review
The problem with The Last Fall is that the reader isnt as invested in the protagonist as he/she should be. The story needs a major event to bring about this change, as The Last Fall shows a lot of potential to be a good series. Read Full Review
I actually find the backstory of the planets very interesting. I want to see more of each planet since Krovin is this desert smoking land and Merkonia is this lush and rich land. I think by exploring both lands and its people, we could again see some strong points on war and how it affects everything. Waltz has a good start, but with so much press for this comic the first issue's story is known, so I am thinking that issue #2 will have to be where the comic makes or breaks it. With mini-series you only get a small window to do this, so watching how the story progresses in #2 will tell most readers if the comic is worth reading. Read Full Review
"The Last Fall" #1 delivers a strong enough start to an interesting story, but would have benefitted from a little more development at the personal level in addition to the interplanetary one. Read Full Review
"The Last Fall" isn't bad, but its story doesn't do anything that we haven't seen before in science fiction " and quite recently, at that. Read Full Review
An awkward looking lead in a story anyone could write. Just average. Read Full Review

"The Last Fall #1" is a poor debut. Where there was possibility for deft and relevant social commentary; there is instead clichs and ineffective set pieces. The creative team is obviously talented but this undertaking may have been too ambitious for them to pull off well. Here's to hoping their next endeavor better captures their talents, ambition and creativity. Read Full Review
This was such a missed opportunity Waltz and the art team seem to have hit their stride in the closing panels, perhaps the next issue will be a step-up. It's worth a shot to see if issue two continues the upward trend. Read Full Review
