Series Premiere. Gerry Duggan and Garry Brown present a massive Double-Length First Issue of their groundbreaking new series! The sun set on samurai and gunslingers at roughly the same time, but our two leads didn't die off quietly. In the East, Asami, an Onna-musha warrior and female samurai, would rather die with her weapons than surrender them to a sword hunt. In the West, the gunslinger MacRaith follows his revenge to the bitter end and pays the ultimate price.  The future lovers are mortally wounded a world apart and awake together in a purgatory ruled by a ruthless society of damned warriors. This one has it all-action, more

Very cool first issue. As others have said, mixing so many genres is difficult to pull off (first thing that comes to mind is Wild Wild West with Will Smith bleh) but so far so good. The art is really meh in my opinion, but it gets the job done. The writing is superb so far and really hooks you and leaves you wanting more. Slightly reminds me of an anime I watched last year, Hell's Paradise. Definitely going on my pull list.

In a daring feat, Gerry Duggan and Garry Brown's FALLING IN LOVE ON THE PATH TO HELL #1 successfully blends American western, feudal Japan, and science fiction elements into a cohesive and captivating narrative. It’s not easy to include a mix of such vastly different worlds into one comic book, let alone a single, debut issue, but this book does just that without things feeling like a complete mess.

Duggan introduces Asami and MacRaith, our two protagonists, through background stories that do ann excellent job providing context and depth for each character, while making it easy for reads to immediately feel invested in their journey. Asami's adherence to the Samurai code of ethics makes her an undeniable instant standout. How more

I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I really liked it up until the end. I'm just not sure if the twist is for me, but we will see.

I'm not a fan of this very stylized artwork. The characters are interesting, but I just have no idea what this is about. I'll be returning for the next issue to find out.
