MINISERIES FINALE
The bill has come due at last. The Devil has arrived, ready to collect what he is owed. The first chapter of the Shrouded College cycle comes to a close with an epic battle that sees Maia and Sebastian facing down all of Hell. There is no way out, not with this much on the line.
The interplay between capitalism and the realm of the devils is a fun one to explore. Soule casts a pretty stern glance into the overlay between money and misery without going into a great amount of detail. It might be interesting to see him explore that in a bit more depth, but he has other places to be with the Shrouded College, and the next series is about vampires in space. So...yknow...Im sure there will be depth there as its connected to Hell to Pay, but hes clearly going to be exploring other themes with the next series. Read Full Review
Hell to Pay #6 serves as the finale to the Shrouded College Book 1. Though the Stone's were hoping to settle their account and some scores, Maia has accrued additional debts during this ordeal. She must have read somewhere that if you want to be rich, you just have to serve more people. Read Full Review
Sliney delivers some beautifully detailed and visually thrilling art throughout the issue/ I love the demon designs and how strange and different they all are. A great looking book from start to finish. Read Full Review
There's enough setup in this issue to make you want more. Soule and Sliney are planning multiple miniseries set in this horror universe, and by all accounts, Hell to Pay is a great taste tester for much larger and scarier threats to explore. The Shrouded College universe ends, making you want more as the pairing of action and adventure is strong with its meaningful themes and horror visuals. Read Full Review
