END OF STORY ARC
"TINY LIVES"
Whatever you do, do NOT read your daughter's diary.
All Mitch wants to do is be the best dad he can for his daughter. But events, in the shape of his lethally beautiful child, intrude again and again. With the Ice Cream Man looming ominously on every page, it is only a matter of time before Mitch's carefully constructed world begins to fall apart. Read Full Review
Ice Cream Man #16 is yet another stand-alone story that starts with a common fear and finds a dark place that speaks to cracks in society as a whole. Simply put, this is one of our best monthly comics, and Id recommend it to anyone. Read Full Review
Ice Cream Man excels when its morbid gags and formalist appreciation take centerstage. So in an issue like this where a twisted family tragedy is emphasized placing more emphasis on characters, the aesthetic fails to lift up a concept that could be considered slight at best. Read Full Review
Great surprise plot twist.
First my biases: I'm a sucker for Father / Daughter bonds (I got emotional at the end of Stranger Things Season 3 and I hate that show) and this was my first Ice Cream Man.
With that mind, this was a perfect one shot comic for me and I think others without my biases might love it too. It had likable characters, good pacing, art that suits the story and tone, and most important: something that gets your emotions going. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ENDING and teared up.
It wasn't until a few minutes after I closed the book that I realized that fact that a psychopathic killer is still alive and ready to possibly wreak havoc on campus. Once again keep in mind my bias. Nothing stronger than family, keep that in mind this Thanks more
This was really good, I liked the twist (should've seen it coming with that cover) and the ending.
Was really good until the end. I thought they could have came up with something better. Other than that I was interested the whole way through.
I guess I know this comic too well because I saw the twist coming immediately. I thought this issue had some good stuff in it, but definitely not my fave.
