Transformers 27 is another strong story establishing issue. Kirkman and Mora are laying out the groundwork for what seems to be some fun developments over the course of the next few issues. Read Full Review

Transformers #27 slows the pace, makes a few surprising character changes and sets up for the next big thing. Not as dynamic as the previous two issues, but still well worth picking up for the art alone. Read Full Review

The new stat quo of humans and Transformers boil over with old wounds reopened for this chapter. Kirkman mixes in human political maneuvering around a redemption plot with his writing. Mora and Spicer elevate each scene with their incredible art. This series never ceases to impress and amaze fans with each new release. Read Full Review

TRANSFORMERS #27 reads like the quiet turning of a giant gear, less about explosions and more about who these characters are going to be when the next round of explosions hits, and that makes it a smart pick if you care about the long game instead of just the highlight reel. For a limited comic budget that values payoff, character repositioning, and a clear sense of where the series is heading, Transformers #27 earns its slot, but if you only show up for big fights and instant spectacle, this might feel like homework you begrudgingly do before the real fun starts. Transformers #27 is unfortunately too jam-packed for its own good, rushing rapidly between many story beats, not allowing events to transpire at a natural rate. Read Full Review

    COMICON - Austin Gorton

Transformers #27 edges the series closer than ever to something that looks an awful lot like the old cartoon. But it doesn’t do so at the expense of the narrative built up over the preceding twenty-six issues, with Robert Kirkman and Dan Mora continuing to further a number of the book’s ongoing subplots in interesting ways. Things are slowing to a snails pace with Transformers #27, going from the fast paced previous run to this is a little hard to take. While the writing is good and very introspective (especially with Optimus Prime and Thundercracker) more needs to happen in these issues to keep me tuned in. Not saying that we need giant robot battles every issue ... but something ... anything! Again total props to Kirkman for juggling so many plots and characters, there are a lot of pieces at play and he's (slowly) moving each one around while telling a cohesive story ... I just wish there was a clear path to exactly where the story is going. Also ... this may just be me ... but I'm over MASK being in this title ... it just adds yet another plot that takes th more
