It looks like this is the final chapter in Sara Pezzinis life that will be covered in comics for now and its an interesting end to a memorable and different series that even spawned an anime at one point (which this reviewer has personally never watched). Hopefully it wont be the last time well see the character (if Witchblade follows the trend of modern comics well inevitably see a relaunch at some point), because at this issue isnt entirely perfect. Witchblade #185 is not a high action issue that forces our heroine to confront one final big baddie, instead we have a somber conclusion that shoots to lay the groundwork for a future for and beyond Sara Pezzini as our icon retires to find a life. It's at times sad to read but those involvedshow how much they care for aindiebook that's stuck around this long by doingwhat they do best. Witchblade #185 unfortunately isn't the strongest finale, but what a run overall. Sara Pezzini is one of modern comics' biggest success stories, ushering in a wave of fans that helped put Top Cow on the map. Her story as the Witchblade might have ended here, but it's just a matter of time before we check in with her again, hopefully. I also liked where Sejic's story was going. It managed to keep a lot of what's good about the Witchblade mythos while providing a new and distinctive voice observing it. In conclusion, Witchblade #185 "officially" finishes the twenty-year run of Sara Pezzini as the reluctant wielder of the titular independent supernatural-noir, female-driven superpower-series. It can be served paradoxically as a starting point for new readers around for it retells what transpired for the past twenty years though the storytelling and illustrations departments barely make out on the levelness of great overall executions, plus some of the former artists and scribes are reasonably absent that might can flavor or add dynamism on Sara's last days as the supernatural wielder.
