Alpha Flight#4 does everything right. The art is beautiful, the characters are complicated, and the book continues to touch on decades-old pieces ofAlpha Flight lore. This book has been the biggest surprise of the era. It has not skipped a beat in proving itself one of the best in the X-Men line. Read Full Review
The pacing is strong, the storytelling is solid, and while there are things that do feel a little like caricature with Department H, there are real stakes for the characters and and investment in how things are going to play out. Read Full Review
Alpha Flight sets up an uncertain finale with a penultimate issue steeped in tragedy and disastrous outcomes. Godlewski's art is great, and Brisson's technical execution is solid, but the story lacks emotional punch or weight, so the setup heading into the finale feels hollow. Read Full Review
I'm genuinely shocked I'm enjoying this series this much. I don't mean to knock the characters or the creative team, but I had never previously been all that interested in Alpha Flight until now. Even here, I only decided to read this because it's part of Fall of X and I think Brisson is a good writer. All of that said, I really enjoyed this issue and I thought it was the best one yet. The story continues to be well-put-together and I also enjoy Godlewski's art. Good stuff all around with this one.
It’s not that it’s bad. It’s just forgettable.
