    Comic Vine - Tony 'G-Man' Guerrero Jan 18, 2012

You'll be surprised at how much action there is despite Spider-Man not going toe to toe with a costumed bad guy. Because this is part 1 of 2, you have an idea how things might end next issue. Regardless, Slott and Ramos give us a Spider-Man story with a great refreshing twist. It's a fun read with no hints as to how Spidey can possibly save the day. Read Full Review

This was my pick of the week until I read Batman and that is not a slight at all. Overall, this book reeks of awesomeness and the ending guarantees your next appointment in February. Read Full Review

Another great issue of Spider-Man. Slott started his Big Time – Spider Island mega-arc with a string of 3 or 4 “A” issues and he's doing it again here. Slott gets that Spider-Man is supposed to be FUN and Ramos' art is the perfect compliment. Read Full Review

Despite the artistic shortcomings, Amazing Spidey #678 is another great entry into Slott's ongoing saga that ups the ante for our hero at a time when I hardly thought that was possible. Read Full Review

The energy in the pencils is bounding and bright, however, and suits the book like a glove. We'll have to wait for the next issue to see how things turn out, but if these are the kind of fun, small arc stories that Slott and Ramos are gonna be telling for a while, then I'll be there with bells on. Comics Bulletin - Dylan B. Tano Jan 20, 2012

The World's Worst Super Hero! That is the catch phrase hanging at the top of the cover for this issue. Slott delivers a world without Spider-Man for a day and then gives Pete the chance to save it. The issue is fun, fast, colorful, and intense. It was a joy to read and Slott continues a great run on Amazing Spider-Man and I can't wait to see how Pete pulls this one out. Marty and Doc would be proud of the time traveling shenanigans, although if Spider-Man can't swing in at the nick of time to save the day we may be hearing a "Great Scott!" coming for quite a few in New York before they're vaporized. Major Spoilers - Stephen Schleicher Jan 22, 2012

Though it isn't part of a huge story arc, I really enjoyed reading this issue of The Amazing Spider-Man. The set up is nice, and the repercussions are fairly serious, but again, we know New York isn't going to blow up - especially with the Avengers vs. X-Men event on the way, and Avengers and Spider-Man movies on the way in the near future. It's a good fun story that becomes even more enjoyable to read with Ramos behind the pen. I'm still riding high on my transition to Spider-Man, and The Amazing Spider-Man #678 earns 4 out of 5 Stars. While it's unlikely neither Ramos art nor Slott's writing on this issue is going to win over any nay-sayers, if you've enjoyed their work so far, this is as good as anything they've done on "Amazing Spider-Man," with an ending that guarantees you'll be there for the next issue. The Weekly Crisis - Grant McLaughlin Jan 22, 2012

I feel like a jaded reader to say this, but New York isn't going to be destroyed in Amazing Spider-Man #678, which takes any suspense that could have existed right out of this story. But who knows? Dan Slott has impressed me in pretty much every other issue I've read; maybe he has one heck of a rabbit to pull out of his hat in part two. I sure hope he does. Read Full Review
