This book does a brilliant job of building on the events of #1000. The dialogue between Cormac and Peter after their battle flows so naturally that you can actually hear it in your head. Cormac is every bit the overconfident villain and comes across as the kind of character readers will love to hate. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #1001 is a fantastic follow-up to the milestone issue, with Joe Kelly expertly weaving Peter's personal struggles into the mystery surrounding Ravage. Peter's desperation to save Aunt May creates genuinely painful moments, while his connection with MJ offers a welcome emotional reprieve. Pepe Larraz delivers stunning artwork throughout, making even the quieter scenes feel cinematic. There's little action, but the emotional stakes and the growing mystery around Peter's powers make this a gripping chapter. Read Full Review

A fantastic issue that continues to push Peter Parker on a psychological level in a way we haven’t seen before, make this a story you’d be foolish to pass up on! Joe Kelly is penning one of the best Spider-Man stories in recent memory, and together with spectacular artwork it’s a smash hit from start to finish. Read Full Review

The Amazing Spider-Man #1001 sets the tone for Peter's upcoming power struggle with Cormac quite well, where his options are limited and there seems to be no way to regain what has since been lost. Whether this new revelation sticks or not is left to be seen, but for now, the palpability of Peter's internal conflict is driving this book in a very exciting manner. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #1001 puts Peter Parker on the ropes when Ravage holds all the cards to remove Aunt May from Peter’s life. Joe Kelly’s script is short on action but long on dramatic impact, and Pepe Larraz’s artwork sells the emotional beats with ease. This is one of the better ASM issues in a while. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #1001 is a strong, gorgeous continuation that respects the legacy number without spending the entire issue staring at itself in the mirror. Kelly hits Peter where it hurts, Larraz and Blee make every page look expensive, and the Parker family mystery keeps tightening its grip. If this is the web carrying Spider-Man into his next hundred issues, familia, it is holding strong. The Crusade Never Ends! Read Full Review

The emotional punch carries a lot of heft in this story, but everything around it still feels very run-of-the-mill. Read Full Review

This issue was great. Art was killer and I really like how Kelly writes Peter. It has been very consistent and I like how it continues from themes that were set up from the first issues. Hug with MJ was peak. Just peak.

And Cormac? Well, I am still not a massive fan of this sudden change. But what makes me okay with it is that there has been some hints and that Peter is just as confused as the reader is. I like the dilemma here and how it continues themes Kelly is clearly fan of.

Only true negative? Why wasn't this part of #1000. This story made it better and left #1000 even weaker. Had this been part of it, instead of random Triple H story, I would've liked it much more.

Sure, this reads better in trade. But you more

I’m still not a fan of Joe Kelly’s Inferior Spider-Man, but this story, as wild as it is, is somewhat intriguing. I’m also glad there's not a single flashback in this issue. I probably don’t have to mention that the art by Pepe Larraz is perfection.

Wow what an improvement this was over issue #1000

The tension between Peter and Cormac at the hospital was genuinely threatening.

MJ being the one to Pull Peter back from a potential mental breakdown just continues to show that these two should be together and Marvel needs to stop messing around with them, even if they cant be married just let them be together.

Peter uses his brain in this issue and goes to actual experts like Norman and Wanda in the fields of battle against Cormac even if they cant help it at least show's Peter being competent n seeking advice.

Now can the next issue stick the landing?
