The Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #9 is not only a strong issue for Mary Jane, but also for her relationship with Peter. It's their connection with each other that allows MJ to harness enough strength to fight against one of Spider-Man's deadliest foes. Read Full Review
Conway and Stegman plot a familiar Venom storyline for the Parker-Watson family, but some clever twists inserted into Stegman's script make for a subtle but enjoyable twist to the Spider-Man/Venom relationship. Guest artist Frigeri's draws an appropriately slimy and intimidating Venom, but it's colorist Jesus Aburtov who takes home the prize for the art department in this issue. Read Full Review
An enjoyable conclusion to this nice and short story. I am not really interested in Normie Osbourne (and the whole idea of him being some sort of a mastermind hasn't been too appealing to me so far), so I am not too excited about the next story but we'll see.
Peter does some rather clumsy detective work before finally confronting the evil symbiote that's swallowed his wife. It's a very Pete-centric story and a very safe one; there are some tiny twists of novelty to add some distinction. Juan Frigeri does a decent if somewhat under-detailed job of filling Ryan Stegman's artistic shoes while he shifts to handling the script. His dialogue falls short of memorable but the plot is nicely paced. It also fits like a Tetris piece into a larger Osborn-centric story that makes the coming issues easy to look forward to.
