Overall I’ve enjoyed this run. MacKay’s Avengers run will go down as a modern classic in Avengers lore. The battles felt meaningful. In typical MacKay fashion every conversation felt meaningful. Ultimately this issue offers a satisfying conclusion. I can appreciate the creativity MacKay, Karami, Blee, and Petit showed in wrapping up this run while also preparing to leave the Avengers in new hands. Oftentimes in my comic experience, handovers can be disjointed or clunky. This however feels both satisfying and well planned. Read Full Review

Avengers #36 finally brings Jed MacKay’s several year run to a close and offers a satisfying and honestly almost slice of life ending to the Avengers. Whereas the last few issues were chock full of superheroic action and thrills, this issue is much more relaxed and feels a lot more personal as it focuses on the rapport team leader Captain Marvel has built with her peers, and by doing so, proves this was by far the right choice of tone and spirit for the finale of this run. Karami creates some beautiful art the issue. The story is very character focused so there are some great shots and panels of the characters talking to each other. Read Full Review

One door closes, another will open again. After three years, MacKay says farewell to the Avengers with a bittersweet reflection of events. The art team hits the emotional weight of Carol’s decision and effect to reader’s delight. It is a goodbye for now but Marvel heroes will never stop saying “Avengers Assemble” in some fashion. Until then, check this finale out. Read Full Review

Avengers #36 isn't epic per say, but it is the reserved yet thoughtful ending a run as dependably consistent as Jed MacKay's deserves. Read Full Review

Plot Captain Marvel speaks with the entire Avengers team—Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Sam Wilson, Vision, and Iron Man—to end her leadership and create a new Avengers lineup with a new leader. Carol needs a break from this responsibility after everything she had to deal with during the search for the Lost Moment, Blood Hunt, and One World Under Doom, where they managed to save the most people, though the losses were high. But first, they all gather to say goodbye to Impossible City, which is actually called Camelot. Camelot has regained all its memories and is now reunited with the Twilight Court, who will fulfill the mission for which Kang created them: to be intergalactic Avengers.
