Mar 04, 2026Overall I’ve enjoyed this run. MacKay’s Avengers run will go down as a modern classic in Avengers lore. The battles felt meaningful. In typical MacKay fashion every conversation felt meaningful. Ultimately this issue offers a satisfying conclusion. I can appreciate the creativity MacKay, Karami, Blee, and Petit showed in wrapping up this run while also preparing to leave the Avengers in new hands. Oftentimes in my comic experience, handovers can be disjointed or clunky. This however feels both satisfying and well planned. Read Full Review

Whereas the last few issues were chock full of superheroic action and thrills, this issue is much more relaxed and feels a lot more personal as it focuses on the rapport team leader Captain Marvel has built with her peers, and by doing so, proves this was by far the right choice of tone and spirit for the finale of this run. The art team hits the emotional weight of Carol’s decision and effect to reader’s delight. It is a goodbye for now but Marvel heroes will never stop saying “Avengers Assemble” in some fashion. Plot Captain Marvel speaks with the entire Avengers team—Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Storm, Sam Wilson, Vision, and Iron Man—to end her leadership and create a new Avengers lineup with a new leader.
