As violence tears New York apart, and ordinary citizens become crazed, super-powered thugs with nothing but wanton destruction on their minds, Janet Van Dyne - A.K.A. the wonderfully winsome Wasp - fights to save not only the lives of her fellow heroes, but also a friendship. Which is not easy when that particular friend is trying to bash her head in.

Fans of the Wasp will love her role in this story and the effective and compelling way that Greg Land renders her fight scenes. Hopefully his book continues to be engaging and not just a series of battles predicated on lessons from the Beyonder in service of a future book or event. Read Full Review
The larger story that is being presented has yet to completely resolve into anything that would be terribly compelling. That doesn't mean that a bigger payoff isn't coming. It just seems like Landy hasnt quite found a way to frame this part of the larger serial in a way that is terribly interesting. In the larger run of things, Landy set himself up with kind of a challenge for this particular issue. It DOES deliver information important to the story, but it's difficult to bring it to the page in a way that feels like it's catapulting the action forward. Read Full Review
This series feels like its having one of the biggest identity crisises in the comic book world this year and luckily, it's one that you can avoid. Read Full Review
The art is so beautiful and dynamic that I can't give this a bad score. It felt like a filler issue, that's for sure. Even with all of the action going on. It was all about a diversion so the bad girl can break out of prison. Not sure that's enough of story to do a whole comic about. It's definitely a slow burn, but I hope they pick up the pace soon. It was good to see Jan doing some action, but the "I love you," "I hate you" dialogue was stale after the first bubble.
I want to like this more but there's just a ton going on, and the art really isn't helping things.

Oh, good, we're *still* sticking with the "fill 75% of each issue with a one-off nonsense conflict" model. That'll string this story out as long as possible before getting to anything even a tiny bit conclusive.
*Sarcasm mode off*
Though it's a stupid format and it's still illustrated by one of my least-favorite artists, I'll admit: By this point the creators know what they're doing. It helps a lot that we know about the Beyonder's scheme now; that makes the pret-a-porter action seem less pointless.
The best part is probably the way the Beyonder starts to crack as the story goes; he's the very definition of an unreliable narrator.
On the other hand, all that narration leaves a lot of the storytell more
My god was it terrible. The narration killed all the momentum for the plot. The long introductions of familiar characters, many boring plotlines and that childish beef between Jan and her friend. The main story barely moves but the whole readthrough is so long. By the end I forgot what I've been reading.
