Avengers Mech Strike #4 continues to give readers exactly what it says: Avengers in mech suits. But now they have Thanos teaming up with them to face Kang The Conqueror, and even he gets his own mech suit. It sounds fun, but it's not as wild or fun as you'd think it would be. I'll be honest, this is just a turn-your-brain-off sort of story. I enjoyed it more by not thinking about anything, and just paying attention to the character interactions, which were genuinely fun.
The Avengers' Hail Mary against Kang doesn't go well, costing them their unseemly ally Thanos. Look, Carlos Magno just wants to draw giant robots fighting monsters. And Jed MacKay just wants to write Avengers sassing each other. They do these things well enough to make up for the book's deficiencies -- barely -- and hold overall quality at average.
