AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS TIE-IN!
• Carnage is back in NYC and the city will never look at him the same way again!
• Something incredible has happened to the symbiote serial killer in AVENGERS & X-MEN: AXIS that will have Cletus and you reeling!
This Carnage mini-series is off to a strong start, and just might be on its way to trumping al other Carnage miniseries we've seen in recent years (yeah, let's forget about Carnage USA). Read Full Review
From an event that has been such a disappointment, it is refreshing to see part of the story be so engaging and fun. Carnage has always been a very popular character, being ranked in 2009 IGN's 90th greatest comic book villain of all time. It's great to see Rick Spears give him a miniseries definitely worth reading. There are some great one liners in this series, and I looking forward to seeing more of Carnage's path to become a great hero. Hopefully the success of this miniseries will rub off on the main event it ties into. Read Full Review
AXIS: Carnage #1 is a solid beginning to a new chapter in the killer symbiote's tale. Placing Carnage in the role of a hero instead of a villain is one of the most unique takes on the character in a long time. Read Full Review
All in all Axis Carnage #1 is a good read, despite being a start to a tie-in mini-series. Since this is a comic about Carnage this comic is not for everyone, especially to younger readers and readers who can't stand gore. If you don't mind that and just want to read a good Carnage story then I suggest to give Axis Carnage #1 a chance. You be surprised how things go and want to see more. Read Full Review
I'll be totally honest with you, Carnage has never been one of my favorite Spider-Man villains. Am I interested in the red symbiote? Sure, but he's never ranked up there with the likes of Eddie Brock or Kraven the Hunter. This first issue though? It made me fall in love with the character and kept me entertained. Yes, many of us have event fatigue, but AXIS is exactly what this Spider-Man foe needed. Watching him try to be a hero is priceless and it kept me smiling whenever he was on the page. I'm really looking forward to more of this because AXIS: CARNAGE is a twisted delight. Read Full Review
German Peralta's art is solid, if not entirely suited to a character as visually dynamic and extreme as Carnage. Kasady is a looking a little plain here. But Peralta visualizes the new Sin Eater well, bringing a creepy vibe to his many scenes. Read Full Review
Making a villain into a hero is difficult, and I commend Rick Spears for how well he makes it work. Plus with an artistic team like German Peralta and Rain Beredo, you can be sure that their work will bring the words to life. I was pleasantly surprised by AXIS: Carnage and only hope the rest of the series is as entertaining. Read Full Review
There's not much to get excited about, unless you like wordy, uninteresting dialogue and cheap character gimmicks. Read Full Review
