A good issue, but a bit of a perplexing one since it doesn't organically transition from the last. Read Full Review
Cable #156 delivers a surprising full-issue flashback and throws the main story into a bit of a holding pattern. It's initially disconcerting, but the points that are made by the end of the issue are both insightful and scary. Top-notch visuals throughout help sell a tricky script. If the start is shaky, the end is notably powerful, and the larger story is evolving in fascinating ways. Read Full Review
There's still a ways to go, but so far this is the best Cable story since the era this issue is set in. Read Full Review
Nadler and Thompson continues what is turning out to be one of my favorite Cable stories as they offer what is possibly the most human version of the future mutant soldier. Read Full Review
These are the writers that should have been from the begining :D
Wow!
I loved the trip back to Messiah War. Another great issue!
The story rewinds to show an earlier Metus encounter during Hope's post-apocalyptic childhood. The transition from the last issue is rather jarring, but this flashback is surely not random. Insanely good art and adroit emotional work in the script make this a delightful - but still very spooky - read. Besides entertaining in its own right, this look at Cable's parental past ratchets up the stakes significantly for the coming showdown with Metus.
