Captain Marvel #3 takes a diversion from the main story arc as Yuna faces off with beasts in the Sanctum Sanctorum and we check in on Doctor Strange and Clea. Its a fun story, but I felt Carol resolved a big problem in the issue way too easily. Otherwise, the character interplay was great and the issue ends with a solid cliffhanger. Read Full Review

Its a slow start, and as we continue on this journey the nagging questions still remain: why hasnt Carol reached out to someone regarding her current situation, where shes forced to trade places with Yuna in the Negative Zone, or what exactly is up with the the Nega Bands. Its a great premise, but the team keeps missing the mark when it comes with each new issue. Read Full Review

It does seem that some big answers are on the horizon, and once some of those questions are answered, those areas of the book should fall right into place. Read Full Review

Slightly improved from last two issues but mostly because the artist seems to be getting more into it and really does a great job in many of these panels, plus the use of color pops out nice. The low score however remains because the writing is still bad and there's very little room given to develop the characters. There has been very little reason to like Yuna other than she has to be there for the plot, and Carol is just being used to progress Yuna story. SO this feels more like a Yuna comic than Captain Marvel so far

This is the issue where the creators burn through the last of my patience and charity.

The art is strong. The dialogue sounds reasonably natural. The antagonist and the conflict are pretty generic, but they could work as long as the comic offered up something else more engaging.

What it has to offer is Yuna @#$% Yang.

I have no problem with Yuna Yang as a character. I like her representational demographics, and I think she could be a good supporting character/sidekick.

What I have a HUGE problem with is that she's the protagonist, and Captain Marvel is, at best, a guest star in her own title.

The balance of narrative attention between Yuna and Carol is only getting worse, and it doesn' more
