After the somewhat letdown of the first digital volume, this start is a breath of fresh air in both story and look. This feels like a much higher tiered series and one I want to see where it goes. It might be digital but this is a comic series to definitely check out now and especially when it eventually makes it to print as a trade. Read Full Review

Cloak & Dagger settle into a perfectly fine non-romantic relationship that suits them great - except for all the ways it doesn't. With Mr. Negative taking a particular interest in driving wedges, it seems likely that their relationship is headed into the wringer. This initial glimpse is a bit surface-oriented, but the broad scope - vividly painting the heroes and love interests AND the antagonist - keeps it from feeling shallow. Solid, smooth art effortlessly supports the fast-paced plot.

A strong issue to jump back into Cloak and Dagger with. This MDO is all about Cloak and Dagger trying to figure out there new normal. Can they enjoy what makes them work well together while also having some boundaries and personal lives? It is an interesting question. The story is straight forward and the art maintain a sense of stark contrast in tone. The elements of creepy horror are there and this MDO made me wish we could go further and make Cloak and Dagger a Marvel MAX title.

This book is already more mature then the average marvel title and there is definitely room to grow in that direction, but with the issues DC has had with Black Label I am doubtful for that relaunch.

Both chapters of this issue set up a qu more

I don’t really like characters like Vi, and I also don’t care about relationship problems. Also I don’t know who this villain is, but he is very snazzy.

Dennis Hopeless is incredibly hard to trust. For everything good he does, there's plenty that isn't so good. And his first run of Cloak and Dagger is like that. It went from good, to bad, to good again. So I wasn't really looking forward to the sequel... And I was pretty much right not to. It's not awful by any means, but Tandy's characterization is very annoying. She's clearly unhappy with her relationships and instead of fixing things, she's just extremely petty. Ty's characterization is better. Much more sympathetic. But we can't have too much of that, because he gets a new super cool:tm: girlfriend that's so into him for superficial reasons. And she's got no character outside of that, so you better love her like Ty does way too quickly! more
