After Johnny apparently burns to death beyond recognition in a race car crash at Wonderworld, a skeptical Ben goes to see the owner, Alden Maas, on his island to get some answers. Ben learns that Maas is using Johnny to send heat to the core in order to expand the Earth's surface. Ben is fooled by a hologram of Johnny in restraints & falls down a shaft. Upon landing, he is zapped by the Mole Man, who blames the FF for what Maas is doing to the Earth. (Cover date: February, 1984)
