A vast departure from previous issues, Jean Grey #6 brings in many new components to expand her story. In a manner through which she could not contact the parts of her mind we see in this issue, Jean faces herself and inches closer to a fully realized image of her future. The changes in this comic add another complex layer to the story of this Phoenix-host and how the ever cyclical tale of destruction, passion, and power may not be what she or readers think. With new things on the horizon, Jean Grey may end up touching upon important aspects of the characters story that reconcile some of the issues regarding the complex points which surround her. The time-displaced original five are giving Marvel their best stories of 2017, with Jean Grey #6 easily being Marvel's best comic of 2017. Read Full Review
Issue #6 is potentially a decisive crossroad in which Dennis Hopeless continues his ambitious bid to explore new territory. While maintaining the evolution of the teenage adaptation in the coming issues through inventive and creative methods, Hopeless may possibly pioneer a totally new context to fundamental events spanning decades through her own suppressed and censored perspective, and for some fans utterly smashing the iconography and paradigm of everything what thought we knew about Jean Grey. This is a must read for any x-fan out there. This series and issue especially is so much fun and exciting. This Jean is a blast to follow on her journey and I'm really excited to see what happens next, especially after what happens on the last page of this book. Read Full Review

Best issue so far since the beginning! Really good moments here! Doctor Strange was cool, and the past moments of Jean were really amazing to see! And that end...
Dr. Strange's questionable assistance puts Teen Jean properly in touch with the Mystery Voice in her head: It's the "don't you dare call her 'real'" Jean Grey that sorta-lives in the White Hot Room, and she'd like to feed Teen Jean a triple serving of unpleasant truths. This story has no shortage of ambition, but there are some flaws where the creators' reach exceeds their grasp. Dr. Strange ends up rather useless and his introduction is mangled. Paul Davidson's art is impressively weird and distinctive, but his era-hopping parodies don't quite land with full force. He's also struck with the perennial guest artist's problem - fully embracing a very personal style isn't a great idea when he's in and out in a single issue.
