I loved this comic! Hellstrom was written perfectly(for a change...), the villain of the piece makes perfect sense, as does his plan, and the story, dialogue and art all came together perfectly. While not as much of a triumph of some of the more recent issues- the holiday and Volstagg one-offs spring to mind- this tale is certainly head and shoulders above a majority of the mainstream titles on offer at the current marketplace. Seeing as this is a middle-of-the-road issue in context of the arc, it's even more impressive how Gillen and co. have succeeded in maintaining their quality with this tale. Journey Into Mystery remains as fun as ever, and you must have a cold, cold heart indeed if your heart isn't warmed by the endearing stuff to be found within this gem. Two problems hold this issue back compared to recent months. For one, the Loki/Hellstorm team-up falls a bit flat because the two hardly interact after agreeing to work together. For another, the humor is a bit more hit-or-miss than normal. The interaction between Hellstorm and Thor is priceless, and Loki's random fourth wall bending is fun as well. But too much of the humor involves Leah lobbing softball insults at Loki, and that gets old after a while. Cut the kid a break, already. Read Full Review

This book has been consistently awesome in recent months, with this issue being the only major stumbling block. I'll have to see what happens next issue in order to make a solid judgment on whether quality is sliding, but for now there seems to be no cause for alarm. Read Full Review
