This issue is a hell of a lot of fun. Although saddled with a more complex backstory than her TV counterpart, this version of Mockingbird should be approachable for both new and old readers alike. Writer Chelsea Cain's dialogue is smart and crisp, and I love the art by Kate Niemczyk. Mockingbird isn't normally a character I give a second thought about, but if the rest of the series is anywhere near as entertaining as this issue I may have to start paying attention. Worth a look. Now that I'm on the Mockingbird trolley, I have to say that this series is absolute joy to read and maybe it's because I don't run in a lot of Marvel circles, but I don't know why I'm not hearing more people talk about this book because it's so well done. We've got great art and dialog throughout and I can't wait to find out more about this mysterious arc..... and now that I've read the entire series, I'm in the opinion that none of you out there should be able to wait either. Get on this already and get some Mockingbird fun in your lives...... You won't regret it. Read Full Review

I'm going to spend time this long weekend re-reading the previous issues and getting the events aligned so I'm ready for whatever surprises there are in the next issue. Is Mockingbird now a superhero? Or just a scientist with a strange relationship to ping pong balls? We'll find out! Read Full Review
Mockingbird is very much the Network Television comic of the Marvel Universe - little of the flash or substance that makes an HBO epic, but there's nothing wrong with a well crafted, popcorn ABC drama. Read Full Review
While Kate Niemczyk excels at drawing the finest character details like Clint's hair and the zipper of Bobbi's outfit in a close-up view, her combat choreography feels somewhat stiff Read Full Review
It's hard not to like Bobbie: She's beautiful, she's smart, she kicks major butt and she's witty to boot. I can't wait to see the culmination of the puzzlebox and see how everything fits together perfectly because right now it just looks like randomness. I like how Cain keeps the reader involved with clues, witty dynamics and just the overall story. And Niemczyk and Rosenberg do great jobs in art and color. Look at that cover it's just stunning. I can't wait for more.
A solid return to style with a more coherent narrative.
