A Comic Book Blog - Geoff Arbuckle

I definitely can't wait to see Fury and his Avengers take on the Red Skull. I'd really also like to see a little more play out in the 2011 story. If Bendis can find a balance to that soon, this stands to be one of his best Avengers arcs since he took over. Read Full Review

You can't help but feel that Bendis has been watching Jonathan Hickman jiggering with the Marvel timeline in S.H.I.E.L.D. and wanted to give it a go - but so far - for this story - it isn't working. Read Full Review

I wish the past storyline wasn't intermingled within. I could have lived with the bookends much like last issue, but every time it jumped in time I was pulled out. The story taking place in 1959 has really improved since last issue with the introduction of Nick Fury's 1959 Avengers. I still don't know how the flashback story relates in the smallest bit to present day story. The present day story is still pretty boring besides Mockingbird being shot
