SECRET INVASION TIE-IN Of the thousands and thousands of heroes and humans affected by the Skrull invasion, one man's horror and heartbreak rises above the rest. This is the story of Luke Cage!
I'm not sure where they'll be going in relation to the missing baby story, but I really enjoyed this issue and recommend it to any fan of these characters or Bendis' more street level stories. Read Full Review
The issue isn't perfect, as I do have some worries about the art team, but for me it's probably the highlight of the entire series since Luke and Jessica were married in the first annual. When he finally does loop around to connect back to Secret Invasion, Bendis offers a dangling plot thread that I can't wait to see explored as the series moves on. If you've grown tired of everything Skrully, New Avengers is waiting to welcome you back with open arms. Read Full Review
The tie to "Secret Invasion" #8 comes at the end and is even more powerful here than it is in that issue. By focusing on the connection between Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, and the importance of family, Bendis makes a heartbreaking moment even more so, which is quite the feat. Read Full Review
(Hey, you know what? When I was doing some digging on what work Michael Gaydos has done for Marvel, I naturally searched their website. It was a smack in the face all 'round that his name wasn't included in the book credits on their catalogue page, but there it is. I clicked and... got a flash-pop-up-redirect-hellspawn moment where, ultimately, I'm left at the subscription page for their digital comics service. It didn't even have the dubious manners to open itself in another tab. Nope, it just hijacked the whole search function and now I don't know what Marvel has to say about Gaydos, whom they don't bother to mention in the promotional credits for New Avengers #47. Nice, huh?) Read Full Review
New Avengers #47 was nothing more than pure filler. It was blatantly obvious that Bendis was just stalling and wasting panel space until Secret Invasion concluded so that the Dark Reign plotlines could be kicked off in full force. Unless you are a huge Luke Cage fan, there is absolutely no reason at all to waste your money on this issue. Read Full Review
Since the Skrull crap was kept to a minimum, I didn't hate this issue as much as I've hated the past few issues of this series. But, since I just don't care about Jessica Jones and I barely care about Luke Cage, this issue didn't really do anything for me. Read Full Review
I have a feeling Jessica’s missing baby will lead to big things in Dark Reign
