Brave New World #2 is a return to the reality that tie-in anthology books aren't usually very good. Hydra's smokescreen has cleared! Read Full Review
Even the Patriot tale may not be worthwhile if Marvel decides to do nothing with the character, and they havent announced anything for him yet, so its very possible they wont. Even if they do, there is a real chance his short story may be in a trade paperback later down the line. If they do that, buy that trade instead. Give Secret Empire: Brave New World #2 a pass. Surprisingly good read and art throughout.
The Patriot story by far is the best story out of the three. Is it great?? No. It's decent and it was a a character that I was wondering about. The Invaders story which was a hit last chapter was a total miss this issue. The art was odd but I think next story things should pick up. And the Hydra Bob?>??? It's Hydra Bob it's cannon it should be read at all costs. LOL
Vast swathes of mediocrity wash away some promising story hooks. This collection is just entertaining enough to recoup the time it takes to read it; it's aggressively non-memorable. Patriot: Contrary to the interesting and angry introduction Nick Spencer gave him, here the new Patriot gets suited up as a smarmy do-gooder who bravely polices the Resistance's cafeteria line while America burns in the clutches of Hydra. Hydra Bob: Bob is surviving as a Hydra grunt, even when confronting a powerful Inhuman. You will forget this an hour after you read it. Invaders: One interesting twist keeps the story of Atlantis readable. Featuring a surprise guest star as the leader of the resistance opposing Namor!
