Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse #2 is a fun read. Tim Seely has crafted a really intriguing story and I'm excited to read the next issue, especially after the last page reveals of two characters' identities. But what really has me enjoying the series, and this issue particularly, is the art and colors of Jodi Nishijimi and Federico Blee. If you're a fan of Gwen Stacy, time travel shenanigans, or anything Spider-related, I would definitely recommend picking this up! Read Full Review
I would recommend this one if you are a fan of the Ghost Spider and want to see a story based around her in the Multiverse. There is already one involving Miles Morales but that story does not have all the different versions of himself running around in the same story. Read Full Review
The villain of Gwenverse continues to be an issue, making the ultimate stakes feel hollow and uninteresting. But when you put "Finale" in the back of your head, an Avengers team made up entirely of Gwen Stacy variants is a ton of fun. Read Full Review
It's a really clever idea that Seeley is working with. If he was just a little bit better at framing the action, he would be able to find a better way to break up the action and the drama to feel a bit more coherent. A team of Gwens would be a lot of fun. In theory, Seeley could really ramp up a whole Agwengers saga with the same girl replicated across all the different hero archetypes. Still, as it is, he's not taking the joke seriously enough for it to really develop into anything anywhere near as interesting as it could be. Read Full Review
Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse #2 moves at a fast pace. Too fast for my liking. Read Full Review
I like this comic (both the series and the issue), but not so much that I can overlook the limitations of the storytelling. There aren't any serious faults in the words or the art. But this is a tricky premise, and it'd take a little more verbal and visual oomph to bring out its full potential.
This issue could be a nice treat for fans of Spider-Gwen -- but it's not likely to make any new fans.
its fine to be honest. Not a big fan of the spin-offs of the Spider-Verse.
