• Did you think, just because there were some done-in-one crazy action issues, that this arc WASN'T SERIOUS?!?!?!
• You are WRONG, True Believer, as this issue picks up all the Keyser Soze clues we've been leaving around and slaps you in the face with them.
• All we can say without spoiling more is that Jessica Drew is in for the fight of her life and you do not want to miss it!
Rated T+
Pacheco has guided Jess through a really lovely run that continues this issue beautifully. Theres a solid sense of progression. Shes not just developing as a character...shes also developing a deeper and deeper understanding of the complexity of her family and all of the problems that echo through a very, very messed-up interaction between people who dont actually know each other all that well. Its fascinating to follow from issue to issue.. Read Full Review
Perez and D'Armata create some amazing illustrations in this visually appealing issue. The actions scenes are engaging and fun. And the attention to detail in the drawings really make you feel apart of the story. Read Full Review
Breakneck speeds as we twist, turn, and kick some serious arse. Karlas keeping Jessica as busy as possible, and puts her in some seriously fun situations. Unfortunately shes not giving us the time to know who Karlas Jessica is. Shes brash, abrasive, and balls to the wall, but Id like to know how she feels about her friends. Read Full Review
Another fun issue is in the books, and yes Jess, you should really get a watch. Read Full Review
Keeps getting better and better. This might be my favorite issue yet.
Jess confronts her brother and eventually discovers he's gone full supervillain with the High Evolutionary's tech (and with the ominous influence of his new girlfriend, Rose Roche). It's extremely funny in the front half, extremely creepy in the back, and gorgeously-drawn throughout.
I'm predisposed to love a Spider-Woman comic from this creative team. How do you guarantee my love? 1) Stuffed Jeff the Landshark 2) Those insane sound effects 3) BABY FIIIIGHT!
But my rating lands at "very good" rather than "great" because while the funny and cute stuff is great, the dramatic and creepy stuff is only good -- yet another round of Marchand intrigue is not where I wanted the plot to go.
Oh, this issue is messy, but I don't hate it. It's not, like, annoying. But please. I want the fun issues back, this Marchand plot is like a numbing rot inside a tooth.
*Le sigh*
No Roger Gocking.
It's this brother again.
It's fine.
