    ComicBook.com - Matthew Aguilar Mar 30, 2022

Spider-Woman #21 is a satisfying and thoroughly entertaining culmination of Karla Pacheco, Pere Perez, Frank D'Armata, and Travis Lanham's two-year run on the character, and when I say it's literally every single thing you've loved about their run distilled into just one issue, that is not hyperbole in the least. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Apr 6, 2022

A comic book series in the current era doesnt run for two years with the same core creative team if there isnt a hell of a lot of love going on. The issue closes with a farewell to Spider-Woman with closing remarks from the writer, artist, colorist, letterer, and editor. And...yknow...its been really, really fun reviewing the comic book for the past couple of years as well. Its been one of the most reliably good titles on the comics rack for the past couple of years. Its a shame to see it come to a close. Read Full Review

Spider-Woman never tried to be anything more than action-heavy fun with a heavy dose of personality and it's clear the creative team has pulled that off here and cranked it to 11. For the action aficionados, if you were paying by the punch, Spider-Woman #21is the best deal on shelves. It's sad to see this series go, but it's made itself heard loud and clear that comics can be fun, violent, and have a lot of heart. So another female led book that I was buying from Marvel gets cancelled. Should I take it personally? By keeping Jess in her own corner of the Marvel Universe, coupled with a stay on low down, the latter used on a previous volume and on Ms. Marvel (Carol). Maybe Jess is a character that works best in groups; imagine a detective duo of Jessica Drew and Jessica Jones! But who am i kidding, Marvel would only cancel it after a few issues regardless. Wish we could've had a hundred more issues, but I suppose with companies so eager to hit the cancel button on anything that isn't Batman or Wolverine, 21 excellent issues is more than I'd honestly hoped for. The series goes out with a bang, and that page with the dinosaur is everything that was wonderful about this comic in one perfect image

Well, it's a full-issue fight starring all of this volume's new antagonists plus a few blasts from the past. The comedy and especially the art hit an extremely high level -- not the best of the volume, but still miles above average.

Yet I'm ever so slightly disappointed. I had no doubt that this creative team could blow the doors off of "insane extended fight scene" -- they've done it plenty of times before. They do it well here. I just would have liked to see some deeper character insight in a grand finale.

This was a really fun wrap up. My bad that it took me a year to finally read this issue lol.

Good end but feels sudden. Happy to have 21 issues of the same writer/artist in Pacheco/Perez where it was fun at times but dragged on in others so good overall.

Sad to see this run end, but it has been gradually losing momentum for a while. The return of Veranke should have been finger-bitingly tense but turned out to be a comedic damp squib.

The Hopeless run backed Jess into such a dead end, sexist, and unfulfilling storyline, and with such a formulaic consciously wacky tone, that the character ended up bogged down and felt like she’d been replaced by a far less interesting alternate. This book spent a lot of time and effort trying to free her from that restricted viewpoint but suffered because of it, meaning it was never completely its own thing. It’s especially disappointing as when this book fired on all cylinders it soared, but when it took too many pointers from the previous r more

A typical end to what I feel was probably an abrupt finale.
Did not like how they handled Nick in the series, in retrospect the clone plot wasn't that great either and we spent a ton of time on that.
Not as good as Dennis Hopeless's run which felt more complete plot wise and thematically. An OK Spider-Woman run, now to wait till the next one.
