Hidden moments from Episode VII are accompanied by outstanding visuals. This story does add a bit to Rey's background, but isn't necessary information that greatly expands her character. Chewie has some great scenes in this, as does Leia, who utters a familiar line that left me screaming. The visuals are worthy of praise, with me really wanting to see more of Rosanas's work. This is a book worth getting, but there are stronger installments in this series of one-shots. Read Full Review
The Rey installment plays around the end of The Force Awakens in a good way. It's a solid expansion of the events within there without overdoing it. I know a lot of people are making a lot out of the hug moment, an overlooked piece within the film, but I never found it to be a huge missing piece to begin with so having it corrected here is fine. I like Rey well enough but just like with Luke back in the day, I'm looking forward to the character growing and becoming something more through the books and comics in the future. Taylor and Rosanas did a solid job here and I'll continue to be hopeful that they get some longer-form storytelling for the character in the future to play with. Read Full Review
The book doesn't enlighten us regarding the sequel trilogy, yet there's a lot of fun to be had with Rey and Chewie, including an appearance from an iconic ship. Read Full Review
As much as I enjoy Tom Taylor's work, this issue didn't do the trick for me. The art was very good for most of the issue but this just feels like a wasted issue. Could have done so much more to show why we all love Rey, but this certainly does not. We had some scenes that went on for quite a while and other scenes that were just cut off too soon. Would I recommend this issue? No. Not even if you are a die-hard Star Wars fan. Read Full Review

Rey's issue is another tacked-on side-quest to a franchise heavy on content and light on story. Read Full Review
Interesting area for this comic to take place. I do like that it develops Rey's relationship with Leia, which was limited in the first two sequel trilogy movies.
Better than some of the other one-shots, but still not very good.
Never really got much from this that really added to the character of Rey. It's nice to see a story of what happened on the way to see Luke but the story just felt average.
Useless story. Didn’t really add much to the character except to show she somehow had mastery over Jedi skills that others had to train to learn.
